Inclusive Entrepreneurship & Civic Empowerment (IECE+) is a three-year initiative (2025 – 2028) implemented by Inclusive Business Partners (IBP) in collaboration with Students Support and Philanthropy Program (SSPP) in Uganda, with support from Sida’s Civil Society Strategy 2025–2029.
IECE+ aims to strengthen local institutions, expand inclusive livelihoods, and foster civic participation by empowering young people and women as agents of social and economic transformation. Over the course of the project, more than 600 youth and women entrepreneurs across five districts in Uganda will be trained and mentored using IBP’s 32-tool inclusive business methodology, adapted to local contexts by SSPP.
Through a combination of entrepreneurship training, peer learning, and civic engagement platforms, participants gain the tools, networks, and confidence to build sustainable enterprises and actively engage in community decision-making. The project also strengthens SSPP’s institutional capacity, positioning it as a national hub for inclusive entrepreneurship and civic empowerment by 2030.
By connecting economic empowerment with civic voice, IECE+ promotes inclusive, community-led development — ensuring that entrepreneurship becomes not only a source of income, but also a foundation for participation, accountability, and long-term social change.
