Entrepreneurship Across Borders

Completed in 2016

Entrepreneurship Across Borders (in Swedish GREN – Gränsöverskridande Entreprenörskap) was an initiative aimed at developing a concept to give Swedish immigrants opportunities to start their own businesses.

The businesses were designed to be socially and financially sustainable and to leverage the abundant experiences, competencies and expertise among immigrant communities, which were rarely used in society. Moreover, the entrepreneurs were encouraged to connect their business back to their home country, introducing an inclusive business aspect unique to entrepreneurship training.

The concept was developed over the course of five months in 2015, in co-creation with Stadsdelsförvaltningen Angered, Utveckling Nordost and Röda Korset. It was piloted in Angered and designed to be scalable and replicable nationally and internationally.
